GolfLogix GPS works well after software update Sep 23, 2008 I bought a GolfLogix GPS, based on positive reviews. Initially, I downloaded only my home course (for free) to test the unit. It worked quite well, although there were a few glitches, which I fixed with a reset.
I then subscibed to the download service and downloaded a number of course in preparation for a golf outing to the US mainland. (I live in Hawaii). On the first course the unit failed miserably, giving me a yardage of 980 yards off the first tee. I could not even turn the unit off without removing one of the batteries. The same thing happened on three other courses in California. Needless to say, I was very disappointed and upset.
When I returned to Hawaii, I contacted GolfLogix Customer Support. They analyzed the problem as having something to do with my Windows XP. They gave me a number to call to have a technician walk me through the process of installing a software update. The technician was competent and patient. After the fix, the unit has been working flawlessly on my home course. I can't wait to take it on another trip to the mainland.
Happy User. Sep 15, 2008 The download software is user friendly. It shows the distance to hazards, etc between t and green.
I uses batteries faster than I expected
made my game Sep 13, 2008 It helps out when those yard markers are never easy to find. Also, you can check out how long your drives are.

Richard Sep 05, 2008 I did not like the idea that I had to spend $29.99 to add another 19 courses to my GPS. All the the courses should already be downloaded in the GPS. As is the case with other Garmin products. Had I known this before hand, I would have spent the extra dollars for another product.
It Works! Aug 29, 2008 Works as advertised, worth the money,
Amazing how many times it is significantly different than markers indicate.
